You then enter the registration number and unique identifier (sent via email when the hasher first registered). This will give you a form so you can update the registration with your new information. There is also a button that you can click to generate a new unique identifier (strongly advised, if you are buying a registration). What's the latest I can transfer a registration, change my t-shirt size, hash name, etc?
You can update or transfer your registration information up until a week before IAH2009 (Labor Day weekend 2009). However we have hard cutoff dates for ordering shirts, printing badges, having current information in the event brochure, etc. We will be sending out mass emails to everyone registered notifying them (in advance of our cutoff dates) when they need to verify their information, but do not hesitate to take the time now to ensure it is current.
What if I have questions?
There are email addresses under the "Contact Us" section of the website. Just click on the appropriate section, and ask us! We've already fielded a lot of questions, and have had no problems responding quickly. We also have email addresses for committee leads listed in the MisManagement section of the website if you want to direct your question to the topic area expert!
I heard the hotels were full. Is this true?
Additional hotel space has been made available for the event, but the hotels that are 100% hashers are full. The non-hash hotels or condos are actually closer walking-distance to the venue.
I heard the back up Hotels are 3 miles from the Venue. Are They?
The Founders and Fraser are very close to the Venue. These are not hash hotels but everyone is allowed to come to the Hash Hotels for 24 hour beer and fun.
How do I get from the airport to Winter Park?
See the Getting there section of the website, www.iah2009.com for additional information, but there is no transport provided to Winter Park by the event. We will be providing bus service for within Winter Park and between the hotels and venues, but not to/fro the airport. There is commuter bus for hire if you can get a group together for same-time pickup as another option.
What about Pre and Post Lubes?
There will be Pre Lubes the week prior and in other places like Las Vegas. You need to watch the Prelube / Postlube section of the website as we update the information. Also in Denver, Fort Collins and Colorado Springs there will be Hash Bars where you can go to meet other hashers. Shit Happens is having a post lube in Winterpark Monday afternoon and there will be the Hash O Limp Dicks on Monday after the closing ceremonies.
How do I get to sell my stuff at the Venue?
We are coordinating a great location for the Bazaar. If you are interested in having a talbe at the Bizaar, you need to send email to hashbizaar@iah2009.com (yea, I know it's mispelled... so make me do a down-down) to reserve a place to sell. The Bazaar will open at 12:00 on Friday and is open as long as the venue is open (5:00PM to 1:00AM daily) or until you have had enough.
How do I get around at the Venue? Are there busses to help?
Even though both of the hash hotels and the Venue are within walking distances of each other, we will also have busses running in a continual loop (during certain key hours) between the two hotels and the Venue. At certain times, these busses will also be extending some loops to take hashers into the town of Winter Park, allowing you to shop some of the local shops, have Dinner (which you would have to purchase yourself), party, etc. More detailed info will be posted in the brochure that you receive when you check in.
What time does the Venue open and
when can I register?
The Registration opens at the Venue at 12:00 on Friday September 4th, which is at the base of the Ski Area. The Bizarre will be opening at the same time. The actual activities include a Friday trail and the Hash Band. The opening will commence at 7:45 on Friday and the band at 8ish till 1:00. The beer wagon will start at 5:00 for those who want to come meet and greet until the party starts.
Where can I party all weekend?
Both hotels (Vintage and WP Mountain Lodge) will have 24 hour beer rooms, pools and hot tubs. The venue will only be open from 5:00PM to 1:00AM for beer and other fun. Everyone is welcum to go the hash hotels, even if you are not registered.
What is the elevation and should I be concerned?
The base elevation is 9000 ft above sea level, and all trails go UP from there (except the Zippy trail). Some trails will chair lift to the top of the mountain and hash from there. It is best to travel to Colorado at least a day in advance and stay one night in the Front Range (Denver, Colorado Springs, Ft. Collins, etc.) which will help in adjusting to altitude. Drink lots of water. Alcohol effects come on sooner. Expect that breathing will be more labored since there is less oxygen. There will be medical on hand at every event and trail as a backup, but if you take it slow you won’t have any problems. This is the same location as the 3rd, 13th Colorado Interhashes and there were ZERO incidences of significant altitude problems, though lots of alcohol effects!
Mountains – will there be snow?
This year Labor day is very late so plan for any kind of weather in the mountains. Severe rain showers can move in quickly in the afternoons, which can certainly bring snow. Wind and cold can be a factor. We advise to always carry a coat on trail for this reason. The norm is beautiful, warm, sunny days in September, but you never know! We’ll be paying homage to the weather gods to help.
Pets & Children
Pets are welcome but they must be leashed at all times, even on dog-friendly hash trails. No pets allowed on the buses, chairlifts, or inside the Venue. Do not leave pets tied up and unattended – you may be fined. DO pick up after your pet! If you lose your pet, it’s up to you to find them (not the hares). Because of alcohol being on premises, no children or anyone under 21 years of age are allowed at the Venue.
